My Expertise + Experience
Colleen Skye Scott L.Ac
For more than 30 years, I have been helping people restore balance, relieve pain, and support their body's natural capacity to heal. My path began with holistic healthcare and massage therapy in 1992 and expanded into Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture, and herbal medicine in 2002.
I earned my Master's degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine/Five Branches University and a degree in Holistic Healthcare from Muller College of Holistic Studies. My training also took me abroad to study at Chengdu Hospital and University in Sichuan, China, and the Old Medicine Hospital in Chiang Mai, Thailand, where I deepened my understanding of traditional healing practices. I studied western herbalism With John Finch at The Self Heal School of Herbalism in San Diego CA and with a Lakota Sioux Shaman for a couple of years. This was a profound learning experience that shaped a lot of my practice.
In 2002, I co-founded Watercourse Way Acupuncture and Massage in Brattleboro, where I practiced for nine years. Today, at my Brattleboro office, and through a mobile Community Acupuncture Clinic that brings affordable care to the wider community.
I am licensed by the State of Vermont and have held certifications in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. I have sat five Vipassana courses, and I feel this practice brought me closer to understanding the meridians and flow of energy through the body as well as a deeper understanding of sensation and pain both physically and emotionally.
I have a strong background in nutrition and Asian philosophy. Both were my focus in undergrad and a continual lifelong study. I feel food can be our best medicine.
My work is deeply informed by the natural world. I spend as much time as I can in the woods, observing the rhythms, patterns, and cycles that shape life. Over the years, I have come to see that many of the same principles that govern healthy ecosystems also apply to human health. Nature continues to be one of my greatest teachers, reminding me that healing is rarely about force—it is about restoring balance, supporting resilience, and creating the conditions for wellness to emerge.
Whether you are seeking relief from a specific condition or looking for support on your broader wellness journey, I am honored to be a part of your care.
